Next year demolition will begin at the old St. John's hospital in Joplin that was destroyed in the May tornado to make way for a new one to be built. The proposed new hospital would be an eight-story structure built on 50th Street and Hearnes Boulevard.  The medical campus would employ 1800 people about what it had before.  The project is estimated to be completed by the end of 2014.
