(AP) - A man from Joplin  who survived the May 22 with severe injuries  was to head to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals take on the Rangers in game seven of the World Series

Mark Lindquist and another employee of a group home threw themselves on top of a mattress they had put down to protect three residents when the tornado hit.  The three residents didn't survive,
but Lindquist and his co-worker did.

Lindquist told The Joplin Globe  that the only miracle bigger than his survival would be if the
Cardinals made the playoffs.

An anonymous donor provided tickets for Friday night's game to Lindquist and the man who helped rescue him, Mike Byers.
