Update: 65 Now Six Lanes Between I-44 and James River Freeway
A historic day today for MODOT and the city of Springfield.
Just before six this morning, crews removed the final cones on Highway 65 between I-44 and James River Freeway.
MODOT says except for a few glitches, the project which began about two years ago went as expected.
Officials say traffic flow will improve for everyone, local travelers, out of towners and truckers.
The formal dedication for the $27 million project will take place on Wednesday.
