(AP) - A St. Louis County woman has been found guilty in the suffocation death of her infant daughter.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Sharnique Jones of Pine Lawn was found guilty last week of second-degree murder, endangering the welfare of a child and assault.

Authorities say Jones suffocated her daughter in 2008 and tried to suffocate her weeks-old son in 2009 by holding a cloth over his face.

Police say the boy had been taken to the hospital several times because he had stopped breathing, prompting the inquiry into the girl's death.
