Missouri Senator Roy Blunt says we're heading for the worst economic crisis in American history if we don't get a handle on the nation's 14 trillion dollar national debt.
Blunt says raising taxes, as suggested by the President is not the way to reduce the debt; getting the government off the private sector so more jobs can be created is the best way to go.
Blunt, and other Republican lawmakers say the President is ignoring reality by demanding tax increases as part of a deal to cut deficits and raise the national debt ceiling.
