Missouri Received a Disaster Declaration for Tornadoes, Severe Weather and Flooding on May 9, 2011
As of COB Saturday, May 28:
5,349 Jasper County households have registered with FEMA. Over $6,042,054.09 has been approved for Jasper County applicants
217 Newton County households have registered with the FEMA hotline. Over $200,900.47 has be approved for Newton County applicants.
Statewide, 8,873 households in Missouri have registered with FEMA. Over $13,133,675.30 has been approved for Missouri residents (these numbers include information from Newton and Jasper counties)
Missouri residents who have suffered damages since May 9, 2011 in the declared counties who suffered damages are eligible to register with FEMA

In Joplin, there are two Disaster Recovery Centers where citizens can register or check on the status of their application

Residents of the Joplin area who were impacted by last Sunday evening’s tornadoes and severe storms are encouraged to visit the FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Centers this weekend at the following locations:
