Police Shoot Man Who Allegedly Drove At Them
(AP) - A man is hospitalized in stable condition, and facing criminal charges, after allegedly driving his car at St. Louis County police officers.
Police shot the suspect, 37-year-old Christopher Pool of St. Louis. He is charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of resisting arrest.
Bond was set at $50,000 and Pool did not yet have an attorney. Police say they pulled over Pool's vehicle at 1:15 a.m. Friday for a traffic violation.
As the officers approached, Pool allegedly drove at them, prompting the officers to shoot their guns.
Police say Pool was struck by a bullet but kept driving until striking a parked car. He allegedly got out and ran a short distance before he was caught.
