Table Rock Dam Floodgates Might Be Opened
(AP) - The manager of Table Rock Dam in southwest Missouri says rising waters might mean the dam will be opened soon.
Lake Manager Greg Oller says Table Rock Lake rose 5 feet in 24 hours as of early Monday. He says managers at the Army Corps of Engineers office in Little Rock haven't yet decided to open the dam's floodgates, in part because of significant flooding of creeks downstream from Table Rock Lake.
Oller says 10 inches of rain have fallen on Table Rock Lake between Thursday and Monday.
The decision on whether to open floodgates is complicated by heavy rain at Beaver Lake in northwest Arkansas, which rose 6 feet in the last 24 hours.
