Missouri State Hires New Head Bear for Basketball Team
Missouri State has officially welcomed Paul Lusk as the new head basketball coach for the university. Lusk comes from Purdue where he was serving as associate head coach...the same as out-going Missouri State coach Cuonzo Martin. M-S-U athletics Director Kyle Moats says they always had a 'what' if' plan and the field narrowed to seven candidates pretty quick...but Lusk was the unanimous choice. Missouri State President James Cofer says he wanted a student's coach...who believes that going to class is NOT an option, but mandatory. Lusk says he met with most of the players last night and relayed he understands there's alot of emotions right now, and he gets that...but it's time to get to work. Lusk and his wife have two young children, who he says weren't terribly exciting about moving, but they promised them a puppy and some legos... The crowd laughed.
