Woman Claims School District Racist

A woman who used to work as a cook for the Joplin school district has filed a lawsuit, claiming the district discriminated against her. Dawn Combs accuses the district of racial, gender and disability discrimination for passing her over for a promotion in favor of a man who is white. The Joplin Globe reports the district has asked a judge in Jasper County to dismiss the lawsuit. Combs worked for the district since 2006 before she was fired in 2009.
