Steam Cleaning At Southwest Power Plant

Starting today, you'll notice a loud rumble coming from the new Southwest Two Power Plant in southwest Springfield.  City Utilities is running high pressure steam through the boiler and pipes to bring the plant online.  Spokesman Joel Alexander says CU needs to clean out any residue and debris inside the pipes.  You'll hear the testing going on throughout the day, through the rest of the month.
