Anthony is a beautiful beagle boy who injured an ear resulting in a hemotoma.  He had surgery but developed heavy scar tissue.  This caused Anthony to shake his ear and tilt his head.  The veterinarian suggested part of the ear be amputated.  Since the surgery, Anthony has been happier and more comfortable.  This boy is beautiful from inside out, and nothing can distract from his overall beauty.  He will make a wonderful pet and he is ready for his forever family to adopt him.

New Tool Seeks to Reunite Owners with Missing Pets

In an ongoing effort to help reunite dogs with their owners, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department announces the launch of a new blog.  At http://lostnfounddogs.blogspot.com/ people can submit a brief description and a photograph of a pet missing or found in Greene County.

Dogs picked up by the heal

th department's Animal Control Officers will not be posted on this blog, but can be viewed on the health department's website at www.springfieldmo.gov/health. Animal Control Officers will not monitor the blog or make an effort to match dogs posted on the blog. The health department encourages users to personally contact other users in order to match dogs with owners.

For the past few years the health department’s innovative programs have sought to increase the number of dogs that are successfully reunited with their owners or rescued for adoption.  This blog supports that goal and will be an additional tool to help the health department in its efforts.

You may also e-mail Sandra at KTTS (Sgarlits@ktts.com
to see if she might have any information regarding your lost pet

All of the dogs listed need immediate foster or forever homes. They will only be adopted to homes where they can be active parts of their families lives - dogs will not be placed with families that simply offer to tie/chain them up outside and/or make them outside-only dogs.

Their adoption fee pays for their spay/neuter, rabies shot, parvo/distemper booster, and heartworm test.

Please contact Connie Foster with Canines & Cats at cfos@ymail.com or caninesncats@centurytel.net or by phone at  417-581-5008  if you are interested in providing a foster or permanent home.
