KTTS wins CMA Award for Station of the Year

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KTTS) - Some of the industry winners were announced Friday morning for the 2016 CMA Awards.

KTTS-FM in Springfield, Missouri was named the 2016 Small Market Station of the Year. Country music superstar Garth Brooks called morning show hosts Cash Williams and Summer Stephens to deliver the news.

"To be recognized by your peers as the best at what you do is truly a huge honor," KTTS program director Mark Grantin said. "I couldn't be prouder of our entire KTTS team."

This is a first time CMA Award for the station. KTTS won the Academy of Country Music Station of the Year award earlier this year.

Grantin says winning both awards in the same year is a great accomplishment but it is a testament to the entire Scripps Springfield operation.

"This is an award for everyone in our Scripps-Springfield building," Grantin said. "To win both the CMA and ACM Radio Station of the Year in the same year is a thrill."

KTTS will travel to Nashville to pick up their award at the 50th annual CMA Awards in November.
