I am so going to miss the Olympics when they are over! Every night Mark and I gather around the TV and watch some awesome athletes perform their skills in front of millions of people around the world. Each athlete looks calm, collected and fearless! Including one of our very favorites, Emily Scott.
Emily Scott grew up in Springfield, went to high school here, has family ties and even trained at Skateport before making the change over to ice. She is one of the most competitive, assertive, tenacious and determined people and skaters I have ever seen!
Though Emily has faced some tough and rough roads in her life, she has taken the path to success. Family support from her father, aunts, uncles and grandparents have help to build a steady foundation for her future.
Good luck Emily Scott, you are onto the quarterfinals in the 1000 meters on Friday. We won't be in Sochi but we will be cheering for you back in Springfield. Much love and success to you girl!
I can tell you that you have made Springfield, Missouri proud, no matter what the outcome is during your time in Sochi!
This my friend, is only the beginning. I am sure we will see you in many Olympics to come!
Fingers crossed and HUGS Emily!!
