The Country Cares for Kids KTTS St. Jude radio-thon is THIS Thursday and Friday. This is my second year of participating in such an extraordinary fund raiser. I became a "Partner in Hope" for the very first time last year and plan on doing it again this year, and here is why.
January I toured the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was there, where I witnessed the magic and miracles of what the doctors and staff do to help kids with cancer and life threatening diseases.
St. Jude Research Hospital is NOT what I thought it would be. This is what I saw...kids were on trikes, wagons and playing games. They were...... happy. St. Jude IS a happy place. Thank goodness, because the kids are going thru enough and are just trying to survive.
I cried when I saw bald headed little kiddos with dark circles under their eyes, playing games! I guess you can take the kid out of the playground, but you can't take the playground out of the kid, ESPECIALLY at St. Jude!
Now that I see where my "Partner in Hope" money goes, I want to help more than ever. I want to be part of finding a cure for cancer. I want to stop it in MY lifetime! I want kids to be kids and not have to worry about scary diseases and words such as leukemia, cancer or lymphoma.
Here is the deal- would YOU become a Partner in Hope? YOUR $20 bucks a month may be the money that finds the cure for cancer. Please be a Hero and help a child this Thursday and Friday-
