Hey it's too hot to be outside unless you are underground or in a cave!!!!! The perfect "natural" cool spot to be "down under" is one of our area caves. Teach the kids about stalactites and stalagmites..... and enjoy the cooler temps.... Here is a list of some Missouri caves to enjoy.
*** Fantastic Caverns just north of Springfield is a great tour that allows you to ride thru on a jeep-drawn tram. Perfect for families with small kids. Hours are 8am to 8pm daily thru Aug. 13. Call 833-2010 for details and admission pricing.
*** Meramec Caverns is Exit 230 off !-44 near Stanton. Perfect for a full day of spelunking or the weekend. This cave is handicapped accessible and you can even take a zip-line treetop tour too. Hours are 8:30 to 7:30 daily- Need more info 573-468-6463
***Talking Rocks Cavern 423 Fairy Cave Lane in Branson West- A one hour cave tour with other fun activities on the outside. A nature trail and picnic area available 417-272-3366 for info.
