Pitt Bull & Turkey

  • Print

I mentioned this on the air, but it was early, so it you missed it, here it is.

I was driving home and thought I would take a different direction, just for scenery sake. I drove by this cute little country house that I happen to glance at, and what to my wandering eyes should appear, but a wild turkey, standing on their porch. My first thought was, "I gotta put a picture of that on facebook!". So, I turned around and went back. I stopped at the side of the road, with my phone ready to go when the turkey, who was still on the porch, caught me. He trotted onto the sidewalk and what do you suppose was following him? Try a pit bull.

It was at that instant that I realized that these two hadn't just met one another. Some of my Dad's german shepherd's best buddies were ducks we raised.

I would have loved to have gotten a picture of the pit bull and the turkey, except the turkey came running to the door of my vehicle like a little kid who's daddy just got home. He was stretching up to look in the window with a "Hi, who are you" look to him.

Yep, a wild turkey, which obviously wasn't raised in the wild.....and a pit bull.    Buddies.

Now are pit bulls something to be afraid of?

Not to that turkey......
