Cabin Fever anyone?

  • Print

I was really happy that the snow was due to hit on the weekend.... that meant I wouldn't have to mess with the "mess" until Monday.  A REAL snow day, staying home, in my jammies, watching TV, cooking big pots of soup and baking homemade bread.  After work on Friday I did my grocery shopping and then went home and settled in for my long winter's nap....

Saturday... stayed in (in my pajamas) because I didn't need to go to the store... it was cold, so I didn't even go outside to get the mail!  I worked on the boys' FAFSA's and got them submitted via the internet.  I cooked up a big pot of homemade split pea with ham soup and made some cornbread... from scratch of course.

Sunday... church was cancelled because to the half foot of snow.  I decided to do four loads of laundry and then I made that batch of homemade bread... five loaves cause that's how my momma taught me.  I also made some excellent Parmesan Garlic Chicken for dinner!  Spent most of the day in the kitchen... again.  I did manage to put on my sweat pants but I did NOT go outside... it was really cold now and the snow was drifted up against my front door!

Monday... got up, got dressed (long johns included of course), grabbed the snow boots, the ugly coat, the new Cookie Monster hat, scarf, gloves and finally went out to get the mail.  Oh, and I made it to work, too... it's warm here... and I don't have to cook.
