Curly's View

Abraham Lincoln was right.

He's the one who said, "most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."  So true!  I believe happiness is a choice... not an easy one, but it IS a choice.  Don't get me wrong, I get depressed, scared, angry... just like everybody else.  The difference is, I've come to believe ol' Abe.

What made me a believer?  When I got tired of feeling un-happy, I sought out ways to fix it.  Sometimes life is not easy and it can give you feelings of anger, fear, anxiety and all types of negative emotions.  I just try to remember to not 'dwell' there.  And the best way to not 'dwell' there?  Gratitude lists!

It's a simple and time efficient answer to life's problems... if you ask me.  And I find that when I diligently take the time each day to write out a gratitude list, I am happy.  When I get lazy and don't take the time?  I tend to get unhappy and I become the fan that life is tossing it's 'crap' at.

So, each night before I turn out the light, I list 10 things I am grateful for that day.  It can be big things, it can be little things.  It can be material things, it can be spiritual things.  Frankly, it can be ANYTHING!  I know tonight I will be grateful for a home grown tomato that I was given today... and it will taste all the better because I am grateful for it.  And, I will be grateful for YOU for reading my blog... and grateful that I had something really good to share.

So, make the choice... do something about it and Be Happy!
