... Mother Nature is gonna let us 'get 'er done!'
Tomorrow morning at 6, we kick off the St. Jude Radiothon... again... on KTTS. Yep, we originally had it scheduled for a couple of weeks ago, but Mother Nature had other ideas... and so, we have her blessing to try again THIS week! Thanks, Mom!
Just why is St. Jude Chidren's Research Hospital so important to folks in the Ozarks? How does a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee make any difference in our lives? Well, that's what we'll show you during our two day radiothon.
Before St. Jude came into being in 1962, a child's cancer diagnosis was almost always fatal... too many children were suffering and dying and parents were losing everything they had fighting for their children's lives. Danny Thomas decided to do something about that and began the hospital "without walls". His motto was "No child should die in the dawn of life"... and he set out to put the best doctors, the best scientists and the best treatment all in one place and make it accessible to ALL children... and he made sure it didn't cost their families a single cent! Because of his dream, St. Jude has been able to come up with tremendous cure rates for childhood cancer and has saved countless lives... thousands of them are children from right here in the Ozarks! Our children.
Starting tomorrow, we'll share stories of hope and miracles... and give you the opportunity to become a Partner in Hope.... saving lives for just $20 a month! Hopefully, your children won't ever need St. Jude Children's Hospital. But if they do? It's the cheapest insurance policy money can buy!
