... with that first taste of the season!
With the start of deer season, many people have already had their first (of what could be many) Thanksgiving Turkey 'with all the fixin's' Dinner. I know I have! In Mansfield, my family's church always hosts a turkey dinner for the deer hunters... first day of deer season. It's a fundraiser for the church, and it is an annual tradition. Hunters come ou the deer woods, from far and wide, for that wonderful turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, pies of all kinds... and so much more! My mouth just waters thinking about it!
Well, I haven't made it to Mansfield for this annual event for quite some time, but with Facebook, I hear ALL about it! I also see all the pictures of deer that have been shot... I'm definitely in the loop. It's kinda like being there... except I'm getting crazy hungry!
Thank goodness my church here in Springfield also hosts an annual Turkey dinner... not because of deer season, and not as a fundraiser, just as a way for our Church Board to show the congregation that they are thankful for us! AND, I don't have to cook OR clean up the kitchen! So, last weekend, while they were eating turkey in Mansfield, I was eating turkey here in Springfield... and it was wonderful!
So... my taste buds are all revved up... and I'm almost looking forward to making those 5 dozen homemade rolls for the Clark Family Thanksgiving dinner... cause I want MORE Turke!!!!
