Successful Weekend for St. Jude!!!

  • Print

Another one in the books... As of about 9:30am on Saturday, I had successfully completed my second half-marathon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! St. Jude Heroes collectively raised over a million bucks for St. Jude, which is awesome!

So, here's how my weekend went:

Friday- 8am: Left Springfield

              3:30pm: Arrived in Nashville

6:00pm: Attended a pasta party for St. Jude Heroes, where GAC's Suzanne Alexander hosted. We heard from a St. Jude patient's father, heard multiple song writers play and found out how much money everyone raised!

Saturday- 5:30am: Woke up (ouch)

                  7(ish)am: Started the race.

                  8:30(ish)am: Realized that I didn't train enough.

                  9:30(ish)am: Finished the race.

9:31am: Started complaining about how miserable I was.

12:30pm: Started my streak of eating badly to celebrate finishing a half-marathon

Rest of the weekend: Eat a lot and celebrate.

Nashville was a blast again. It always is and I was thrilled to be able to help St. Jude in a small way again. I am very proud of 'Team KTTS' and all of the money we raised! This weekend was a blast and if you're up for it, I'd love for you to join the team next year. This blog can't do justice to the weekend, so you should really experience it for yourself. Side note: I am almost positive that I won't be running the half-marathon again. I'm getting too old and out of shape. So, run the 5K with me next year? Deal?

If you didn't get a chance to donate, you can always help out the kids of St. Jude by donating HERE!
