As it turns out, there was a slightly bad call in last night's Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers & the Seattle Seahawks. You might have heard about this, assuming you have heard anyone speak today.
Like a majority of NFL games, I was glued to my TV watching this contest. As soon as "the play" happened, I sent a text message to 2 of my friends saying "cue mass chaos." Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I couldn't have been more right. That's exactly what happened, pure chaos. The broadcasters didn't know what was going on, the refs were clueless & I was dumbfounded. At the young age of 23, I've watched an embarrassing amount of football. Seriously, like an insane amount and I've never seen anything like what I saw on that final play last night.
Since I didn't have a dog in the fight last night, I was kind of enjoying the circus that they called a football game, then I quickly realized the effects of the game:
1. A lot of money was won or lost by gamblers on one joke of a play.
2. A lot of fantasy football games were decided by a missed call by the refs.
3. My boss is a Packers fan & there is no way it made him happy. Actually, I know it didn't. Click here and see for yourself.
4. There was no way I was going to be able to sleep after all of the excitement and I had to be up by 5:45am.
That's just to name a few of the effects. One thing I did enjoy about last night's debacle, is the effect it had on Twitter. People were going crazy about the call and it was highly entertaining. This did, however, make me stay awake longer and that wasn't a good idea.
I miss the real refs. I miss them bad. I love the game of football and the NFL. I just hate to see it become a disgrace like this. Haven't seen the call? Watch it for yourself below. I'm guessing my nephews could have called it better...
