• I have found my first challenge as a parent

  My daughter Kaitlyn is 21 months old and growing fast...too fast. It's been so wonderful watching her grow and learn new things everyday. She is developing great, but I am a little nervous about one thing in particular. She is still using her pacifier. When I try to take it away she gets so very upset, actually she shows signs of having a pretty bad little temper. I wonder where she gets that lol. Here are a couple of examples:

  I would probably be classified as a "clean freak". I love a clean house, a washed car, and a spotless garage. Imagine my surprise when I woke up yesterday morning and the bathrooms were flooded due to a FULL septic tank. Gross isn't it? It took an entire day to get it cleaned up and pumped out. If you have a septic system now is the time of year to be proactive and get it pumped out. Trust me, and just do it.

  I know you and I probably have the same feelings about cold weather especially when we are knocking on summers door (the season not the woman). We don't like it, but snow...really? I am a huge summer fan and I will take HOT weather over cold any day. That being said, there was something kinda cool about the weather this morning I think maybe because it is May and this just doesn't happen in May. It was different, special, and a little irritating at the same time.

• Am I Lame???

  I have never had an issue going places by myself. Going by myself to dinner, a movie, a concert, a honkytonk...that has never been a problem with me, and I don't feel lonely or uncomfortable. I do feel a little uncomfortable going to Silver Dollar City alone. Don't get me wrong I LOVE sdc, and I always have, but when I go alone I feel like that "strange" guy just hanging out by the swings by himself at the city zoo. The reason I end up going by myself often is because of my schedule. I get off of work around noon, and while most of my friends are working I'll head down to Branson to hit up the park. Is that weird? What do you think?

  It's a fact of life, relationships sometimes come and go. I have often wondered how my grandparents have stayed married for 70 years and my parents for close to 45. Marriage is tough! It can be one of the most challenging things you will ever do, but with those challenges comes great reward. I came across a story this morning on facebook and it really touched me.
