Super Bowl Recipes

  • Print

Here are the recipes from our tasting this morning. If you decided to make all of these on Super Bowl Sunday. Look to spend about $30 and 30 min of time. That's it! Thank you to my wife Deborah for supplying the food and the recipes.

Pizza Twists

Ingredients
1 - Pillsbury® Refrigerated Classic Pizza Crust 13.8 oz
30 pieces sliced pepperoni
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2-3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Sprinkling of oregano, basil or garlic powder (optional)

Preheat over to 400 degrees F. Unroll pizza dough on parchment paper-lined baking sheet with long side facing you.
On half of dough facing you, place all the pepperoni down in a single-layer, overlapping slightly as necessary, to fit.  Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of pepperoni.  Fold top half of dough over the pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.  Press down on edges to seal. Using a knife or pizza cutter, make 1- to 1 1/2-inch sticks.  Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and herbs and garlic (if desired).  Take each stick and twist, pressing ends down to hold shape.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Double Cheese Jalapeño Poppers

 Ingredients
25 fresh jalapeno peppers ( on the small side)
1 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (16 ounce) packages bacon ( you may not use all of it)

Preheat oven to 450.

Cut stems off of peppers and cut them in half lengthwise.
Remove the seeds and veins from the peppers (you may want to wear gloves to keep the oils off of your hands).
Fill each pepper half with cream cheese. If using large peppers, you may have to use more cream cheese than listed above.
Cut the slices of bacon to fit on top of each pepper.
Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top.
Place on baking sheets and bake until bacon is fully cooked, about 10-15 minutes.

Hot Sausage Dip

Ingredients
1 lb. roll Sage flavored breakfast sausage
1 small onion, chopped
8 oz. cream cheese, cut in cubes
1 can Mild Rotel Tomatoes

Brown sausage in skillet with onion until done.  Drain off grease.  Add cream cheese and stir until melted.  Pour in tomatoes and cook until thickened.  Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Mark’s Awesome Big Game Pizza Recipe

1)     Drive to your local grocery store.
2)    Select one Jack’s Frozen Pizza. (I prefer sausage)
3)    Pay for it
4)    Bring pizza home and put in freezer.
5)    Preheat oven to 450 degrees
6)    When little preheat light goes off on your oven, remove pizza from your freezer.
7)    Remove plastic wrapper on pizza with a cutting utensil. I find that a pair of scissors or a steak knife works best. Ripping open with your teeth also works well.
8)    Make sure to remove the paper pizza label from top of pizza and remove the pizza from the cardboard. Discard label and wrapper by putting in garbage.
9)    Place cardboard on your counter. You will need to use the cardboard later.
10)Place pizza on a pizza pan. I like the ones with the little air holes in the pan.
11)Place pizza on middle rack in the oven.
12)Cook for approximately 17 minutes. You can check on the pizza after 15 minutes to make sure it hasn’t overcooked.
13)Put on an oven mitt.
14)When pizza has finished cooking, remove from oven. Make sure you have oven mitt on so you do not burn your hand removing pizza from oven.
15)Remove pizza from pizza pan and put pizza on the cardboard you saved.
16)Cut pizza into slices using a pizza cutter. If you do not have a pizza cutter, an old pair of scissors will work fine.
17)Enjoy your pizza!
