This photo is of my mother Dena Wolfe. She is in the Navy and is stationed in Landstuhl, Germany at the Ramstein Air Base. She is Shift Leader in a trauma unit, so she'll see our injured troops and help fix them so they can come home.  I miss her so very much but I and also very proud of her as well.

Thanks - Chastity Cook

I just wanted to say thanks to all soldiers, veterans, and the communities for the support they show. I myself am a soldier in the United States Army and I appreciate the support I have been shown. I am leaving my family again in just a few short weeks for a deployment to Iraq. This will be my second in the last yr and half. The support that is shown by others in the communities means alot to me and others as well. God Bless America and the people who serve and the families and communities who show the support.

(11/1/2007)

I would like to send a great big "THANK YOU"  to all the men and women who are serving our country, whether it is in the states or abroad.  We have our freedoms and rights because of them and all the others in the past that  have given the ultimate sacrifice, their life. And to the families of all the soldiers, I commend you for all your strength, in the fact the your loved ones are away from you fighting for us.  I pray God be with each and every soldier and their families.  Thanks to all who have a hand in protecting us and ensuring our rights as Americans.
Lisa

(10/18/2007) - It is because of families like yours, we're able to enjoy the freedoms and security we have today...thank you so much, we're truly humbled by the following letter. We share in the emptiness of absense, and rejoice in the anticipation of reunion - with all of our military families enduring deployment today...(Andy Taylor / KTTS)

Hey Andy and Julie,

I listen to your show every morning driving into work.  I commute every day from Pleasant Hope to Springfield, so I have plenty of time to listen.  I always hear you both talking about the soldiers and this morning I heard part of the interview with the soldier.  My husband is over there in Iraq.  His army reserve unit is based out of Springfield, MO.  They are the 325th Combat Support Hospital and a lot of them were shipped this past summer.   We have three boys, and every time the boys hear about the soldiers on the radio they ask if you are talking about their dad.  I would like to say yes.  We have a great support system of family, friends, co-workers, and church family.   It is amazing how people are willing to help and pray for us in this time of need.  I would just like to say thank you for all the support you show the soldiers and their families.  We appreciate all that you do more then words can express.  I just want you to know that we love your show and it is nice to know that there are good people representing our community.  Thanks and God Bless you!

(10/18/2007)

My adopted little brother is currently serving in Kuwait, and I cannot tell you how very proud I am of him!  He has overcome so much adversity in his life to become one of “our boys”. He plans to make a career out of serving in the Army; a decision that my family supports whole-heartedly. I would like all of our men & women all over the world to know how much they are appreciated & loved. And to the families carrying on without them...you are the Bravest of the Brave!  God Bless You All!!!

(8/21/2007)

My daughter CPL Rohm (19) is currently serving in Iraq.  I have had a great deal of support from my family and friends.  Right now I cannot talk to her because she is in a very dangerous place.  I pray for her and all the troops and their families every night.  It's sometimes so over whelming.  I know she chose to do what she is doing, but it still doesn't take away the fact that she is my child and baby.  I miss her dearly and can't wait to wrap my arms around her and hold her and tell her how much I lover her.  I just hope and pray that GOD will spare my baby and bring her back the same as she left.  All the other troops as well!  I have another daughter CPL Hill (23) serving in the military as well, she has been fortune enough not to have to serve in Iraq.  Both my daughters are United States Marines!  I am proud of both of them, but it still is hard.

Thank you for letting me express myself, a mother patiently waiting for Oct. 23 to get here.

I'm a mother of two children and three grandchildren, and every time I turn on the news and hear of another tragedy. Well I guess I feel alot of overwhelming sadness, because I think of it as if it was one of them.  My grandfather and father faught in the 1rst and 2nd world war. Then when I was 10 my brother who just got married lost his life in Vietnam. I know wars have to be fought and freedom comes with a price, but I just want you to know that if I could I would be right there by your side.

(1/18/2007)

My brother is a United States Marine, and last year he was serving in Iraq during Christmas, as many of our families and friends are, but this year he was state side for the holidays and got  to come home. He bought a round trip ticket from South Carolina to Sprigfield thru Delta but one of his Marine buddies decided to come too and so instead of using the flight here he came with his buddy here and by doing this he was able to arrive a few days earlier, but he had to leave on New Year's Day to fly back, but arriving at the airport in Springfield he was shocked to learn that the ticket he bought and paid for was no good for the trip home but if he bought another ticket he could still use  the one that was no good for the day at a later time. Well as many of us know that the airports are so crazy that you cant pass gas without having to go through a special line and be checked out to make sure your cleared to do that, but the crazy thing is that here a soldier wh o gives up so much to keep us safe cant even use the ticket to get back to base because they filled the seat even though it was paid for in full it was gone. I guess my point is: to the Soldiers and their families thanks so much for what you go through and what you are Proud to do for your country, even if their are people out there who dont get why they have the FREEDOM to gripe or better yet they dont understand who it is out there letting them keep the freedoms that they have their are more people who RESPECT what you are doing than who are too silly to say thanks or appreciate a Soldier who is just trying to get back to base from the holidays. THANKS!

(1/17/2007) An email during an Ozarks Ice-Storm

I just came across your web site while looking for a place to find Kerosene for my heater at home. I just wanted to say that, although we are having it rough here in the Ozarks right now, those soldiers who are far from their families, dealing with conditions that we can not even fathom, have it a lot tougher than we do.

It's hard to be thankful when you have been without power for 5 days, and the prediction is that it will take 5 more days for Webster Electric to get the power back on. However, we should try and think about the soldiers that are without their families, and making the ultimate sacrifice for us every day, and the conditions they are dealing with. Getting shot at is a lot tougher than being without power!

My 19 year old daughter is at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama, completing her A.I.T. She joined the Army National Guard in August, and she knows she will be deployed when she gets done in Alabama. If a 19 year old girl can exhibit that kind of courage, we should be able to handle our "crisis" here in the Ozarks.

Keep up the good work.

I didnt know who to email so I thought you guys were perfect since we listen to you all the time. My husband is in the Army he is stationed at Ft Stewart Ga. He is gearing up to go on his 3rd tour to Iraq in May. I recently moved back home to Brighton to live with my family since I am due in April to have our 3rd child. I wanted to say thank you to all of you for how much you support our troops and everything you do for them. It is an honor to know that there are still good people out there who support our troops. I just hate the fact that my husband will be missing so much of our children's life but we both know his job and I support him 110%. Again I just wanted to thank you. Please keep our soldier, marines, airmen and seamen in your prayers and thier families. Cause we sacrifice more than anyone could imagine. Thank you again!

(11/19/2006) From Major Bland with the 206th ASMC

Dear Mr. Taylor:

My thanks to you and your radio station for sending the soldiers all of those great CDs and DVDs.  I’ll also send you a recent group photo so you’ll know what we look like.  I think the sound file has some buzz in it and probably needs editing in several domains – I hope you can use it.

We devised a checkout system and now have a DVD and CD library of sorts.  Thank you so much. I appreciate the considerable cost and effort that it took to package them, pay for the postage, and go to the trouble of getting them to the mail.

Thank you so much.  Packages here are like Christmas presents all year-round; they contain much more than just material items.  For some reason it's easier feel a connection to home when they come.  It’s easy to imagine folks packing them, taping them shut, and then taking them post office.  The packages make home much more vivid - regardless of their contents.  God bless you & the sacrificial tolerance of our families while we are away on Mission.

MAJ Lester Bland

PS: I suppose you obviously know we are from Springfield – I’ve got to tell you, Andy, The Ozarks area is an oasis: I’ll never take it for granted again; the trees, hills, valleys, friendly people, and safe neighborhoods.  We are so, so lucky and privileged to live in the USA

(11/15/2006) From CPT Eric King in Tikrit, Iraq

I received you box today and wanted to extend a personal thanks for all the goodies.  We have a large community hard drive to store all our music on for everyone to share.  I will load the CD's for all to enjoy. The movies were great too.  We don't get a lot of time to watch a whole movie in one sitting but they will get watched.  I liked the dog tags too. It's nice to know that the folks back home support what we do here and that keeps us going day to day. I would be happy to answer any questions you or your listeners have and I must apologize in advance if some answers are vague but we have to maintain operational security.

Thanks again for your continued support.
